World of Art: A Residential Space Designed by Z-Axis Design

Creating Harmony Between Human and Nature

In an era when science and technology advance rapidly, the disconnection among people caused by cutting-edge technologies occurs even within families living in the same residence. Z-Axis Design addresses this issue with their latest project, World of Art, a residential space adjacent to the National Taichung Theater designed by renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito.

World of Art stands out with its unique design that aims to create a harmonious relationship between human and nature. The centerpiece of the design is a curved window that offers a breathtaking view of the theater, symbolizing the connection between art and daily life. This immersive experience in an artistic ambiance soothes and refreshes the family members after a long day.

The residence features gorgeous and stylish marble structures that exude a gallery-like charm. Upon entering, the family is immediately greeted by the warm undertones of wooden elements and two delicate marble columns gracefully arranged alongside the entryway. The reverse circular design of the structural wall adjoining the curved window further enhances the main feature of the living room. The dual-curved ceiling, adorned with recessed lights, adds to the overall aesthetic appeal.

The master bathroom, strategically positioned to offer the best view of the National Taichung Theater, showcases the designer's attention to detail. The lack of daylight in the previous bathroom was addressed by constructing a glass wall that allows sunlight to create a broad and bright visual effect.

One of the design challenges was to create a space that seamlessly connects different areas of the home while considering the outdoor environment. The wide traffic flows in the dining room and kitchen have transformed these areas into a wonderful gathering space, expanding the public area and fostering a sense of connection. The open island counter, which also functions as a bar, provides a cozy space for people to enjoy food and share their feelings, creating a comfortable breathing space in the midst of a bustling city life.

The World of Art project, spanning 177 square meters, was completed in January 2020 in Tainan, Taiwan. Z-Axis Design skillfully incorporated the curved element of the National Taichung Theater into the home design, creating a seamless blend of art and architecture. The result is a unique residential space that offers a sanctuary for the family, bridging the gap between technology and human connection.

World of Art by Z-Axis Design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life. By incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology, World of Art showcases the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Z-Axis Design, making the world a better place.
